I am working my way through Organize Now! A week-by-week guide to simplify your space and your life. Grab the book by clicking on the link and work through it with me!
I was so excited to roll up my sleeves and jump right into the organizing challenge. I got my cleanin’ pants on, sat down with my list-making tools and got ready to rock. I worked my way down the list checking things off left and right, thinking to myself “I rock! I already do this stuff” and “Woot! I’m making a vision! Yay!”
Then I got to number 6. Whomp.
Limit the amount of television you watch, especially programs with negative images and messages.
The idea is that there is clutter in your mind as well. But I love watching tv and movies. Almost all the time, I have the tv on in the background, especially during the summer when I’m sitting at my computer working, writing, etc. And talk about negative images! This summer I’ve caught up on Criminal Minds, Madame Secretary, and Kimmy Schmidt.
I think I at least need to check out fuller house tomorrow or something. Put a little pep in my day.
Just about everything else on this week’s checklist was a walk in the park for me. I zipped through them with ease. check! check! check check check! But number 6. It was my downfall. TV is my kryptonite. Couple that with a husband who doesn’t really like it, and I tend to take my chance to watch it when I can.
I guess this is my big lesson for the week, right? Television is my downfall.
