Week 2: Here we go!

Today begins my first full week not working. Yay. Seriously. I can feel that my blood pressure is lower now that I'm not working. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow and I am almost excited to have my pressure taken. It's the little things.

This week's to-do list focuses on the fact that we are leaving for vacation on Friday. (We have a house-sitter, so our house will not empty, stay away crooks!) We are driving, which means 16+ hours in a car with a 10-month old. Yikes. We will be stopping overnight in Lincoln, Nebraska, so we're not going straight through, but still. I admit, I'm terrified.

But this view from the front porch of the house we rented should be worth it, right?

Hope so. So my list this week is a lot of preparation. For the trip, for the house (I want to come home to a clean house), and for the house-sitter.

-pack C
-pack me
-laundry (so we can pack, duh)
-deepish clean
   -Monday: living room DONE
   -Tuesday : Bathrooms
   -Wednesday: Kitchen
   -Thursday: Basement/guest room
   -Friday: load car and go!
   -list DONE
-hotel reservations in Lincoln DONE
-find picture of N and I for Bean's picture frame
-doctor appt Tuesday DONE
-run to nanny's to pick up some things DONE
-shopping for trip
-Groceries (we're planning on rest stop picnics so C can crawl around)
-get AC fixed in the van. VERY important pre-road trip. DONE

Lots of sub-lists this week. And a very ambitious list, if I do say so myself. Here's hoping I can get it all done! I won't even show you my packing lists, well, not in this post, but maybe later this week.

What are you up to this week?

  1. I love coming home to a clean house! My Husband thinks I'm crazy but it's so nice to come home and not have to clean in addition to laundry and unpacking and all the other things that need to be done.

  2. I've been in a car with you on a long distance drive - no way that trip takes 16+ hours. Add a screaming baby and there's massive incentive to go faster.

  3. E, that is quite possibly true, however, since I am 28 weeks pregnant, I have to have my legs up as we go up in elevation, and so will not be doing much of the driving. It also means we have to stop a lot for me to walk around.
