Out and About at the Bad Waitress

Back in the day, when I first started this blog, I wanted to do some touristy things and really pump up my city. I love living in Minnesota (lack of government and Michelle Bachman not withstanding) and I've never really explored all that this area has to offer.

Last week, on Friday, I met a friend at The Bad Waitress for breakfast. The Bad Waitress is a quirky diner that serves up some pretty tasty food.

The decor is a fairly vintage look, and each table is labeled with a superhero or monster. You take a look at the menu, decide on what you want to order, write it down on their handy ordering pads, write down what superhero you're sitting at and bring it up to the counter to order. They bring the food out to you when it's ready.

And it's good food. I ordered sausage links and a pumpkin pancake. I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to taste the pumpkin in the pancake, but no worries, it was delicious. I barely ate half of it though, those babies are monsters.

Apart from the food being great, I had a lovely time with my friend, someone I always enjoy chatting with, and part of that was the nice atmosphere, and no-rush feeling we had at the Bad Waitress.

Have you been to the Bad Waitress? Did you like it as much as I did?

  2. Yeah, and you can actually taste the pumpkin. It was great. She'll only need one pancake, that's for sure.

  3. I've never been there before! I have heard about it - I think I'll have to put it on my list of places to go. Have you ever been to the Tin Fish or Chatterbox?

  4. Never heard of Tin Fish, but I've been to the Highland Park Chatterbox loads of times. I dont' actually love the food, I think it tries too hard to be different, (the garlic cheese bread is dreadful) though I like the fries and roasted red pepper dip. But I love going there anyway. I love that you can be there as long as you like, they have hard cider on tap, the games, and free darts. I love me some darts. The atmosphere is fun.
