The wheels on the bus go Round and Round!

Round and round, round and round, the wheels on the bus go round and round, just like our shower tile!

After finally receiving all necessary components to strip grout using the Dremel tool, we (ie: I) discovered that the tile is not in fact tile over cinder block, but a bizarre hybrid of cinder blocks painted to look like tile. I can't even describe it beyond that. So, we're back to the stripping the paint and then tiling over that. I've done a lot of research and from all appearances, you can in fact, tile directly over tile. (Good thing, since demo'ing a cinder block square isn't in the cards right now) So I spent a couple hours in a mask stripping paint this evening. It hasn't stopped me from generating a snazzy little buzz, so I'm done for the night, and here's what it looks like so far:
There's a little bit of cleaning left to do on the already stripped things, clearly.
What is the alleged pattern here? What were these people thinking? Although, it's a lot less terrifying now than it would have been 5 years ago. Isn't it funny how patterns in color combos and such come and go and come right back?

So, that's where we're at right now. I wish I could post pictures of the tile we've chosen, but since it's all at Menard's, which has a terrible website for product, I can't steal any photos.
